Desperately yearning for their Northern roots, this southwestern Ontario alternative folk/roots band often finds themselves pining over poplars and birch. They plant these feelings in a forest of incandescent guitar, heart-pounding upright bass, restless mandolin, howling vocals, and thundering kick drum suitcase & washboard or full drums that speak to the hearts of all who stop to listen. Through happenstance and shared tales of their journeys living among the forests and lakes of La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and Muskoka, Ontario, Cabin Fever was formed around a campfire in the unlikely locale of Camlachie, Ontario, along the sparkling and unpredictable blue waters of Lake Huron.
Known for captivatingly tight harmonies, Jess, Kyle, and Colin showcase compelling style and versatility from the festival stage to intimate cabin concerts and the spaces in between. They spin performances that are tactfully rugged yet wistful and alluring, drawing audiences in with dynamic storytelling through song, quick-witted banter, and genuine connection.
Cabin Fever’s hit single “Devil Is A Friend” is featured in Season 3 of The Trades (CraveTV). They have opened for acclaimed acts including The Sadies, Sam Roberts Band, Emm Gryner, and The Once, and shared stages with The Strumbellas, Cat Clyde, Jeremie Albino, Wyatt C. Lewis, My Son The Hurricane, and more. Cabin Fever released their much-anticipated EP It’s Only Forever in 2025 and toured the record as part of their Yours To Discover Tour to great acclaim.
Notable performances include Four Winds Music Fest, Hard Oil Music Festival, Napatāk Music & Arts Festival (Potato Lake, SK), OnRush Festival, and Quiet Earth Canadian Super Show Weekend (RogersTV), as well as appearances at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts, Aeolian Hall, and multiple sold out shows at the Kineto Theatre, the Lawrence House Centre for the Arts and the Muskoka Arts & Crafts ‘Chapel Gallery’.
Cabin Fever has been featured by CBC (including London Morning, Afternoon Drive, and CBC Alt Country and Canadian Country playlists), Blundstone Canada, Folk Music Canada, Roots Music Canada, Canadian Beats, First Monday Magazine, SWOMP!, Country Music News International (UK), AmericanaUK, and Folk on Sunday (NZ), among others.
