Zachary Lucky is a Saskatchewan-born Canadian songwriter known for his timeless blend of folk, country, and roots music. With a warm baritone and gift for storytelling, Lucky crafts songs steeped in place, memory, and the quiet resilience of everyday life. The grandson of Canadian country music pioneer Smilin’ Johnnie Lucky, Zachary has spent more than 15 years building a reputation as one of Canada’s hardest-working independent roots artists. A seasoned road veteran, he has toured extensively across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Japan, performing at festivals including Mariposa Folk Festival, Canmore Folk Festival, Regina Folk Festival, Peterborough Folk Festival, and Dawson City Music Festival. His latest album, The Wind, released in 2024, quickly surpassed half a million streams and earned international acclaim, with critics comparing Lucky’s songwriting to legends such as Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and Gordon Lightfoot. A master storyteller and compelling live performer, Zachary Lucky is a standout voice in contemporary Canadian roots music.
